Moong dal with raddish green recipe | Mooli Moong Dal ki Sabji
Moong dal makes a good combination with mooli ke patte. This sabzi is heavily loaded with protein, iron & minerals.
Mooli ke patte is boiled with dal in the cooker. Then, it is fried with spices.
To enhance its taste, lemon juice is added to it.
This sabji is dry in nature which is served with wheat flour chapati, paratha, or bajra roti.

Ingredients (Servings - 4 people)
- Radish Leaves(Mooli ke patte), chopped – 1 big bowl or 250 g
- Moong Dal without chilka(Moong Mogar) – 100 g
- Water – 1 tablespoon
- Salt – ½ teaspoon or as per taste
- Red Chili Powder – 1 teaspoon
- Green Chili, chopped – 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric Powder(Haldi) – ¼ teaspoon
- Cumin Seeds(Jeera) – ½ teaspoon
- Hing – 1 pinch
- Coriander Powder – 1 teaspoon
- Ginger, grated – 1 teaspoon
- Ghee or oil – 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
How to make Mooli aur Moong dal ki Sabji
Method
- Soak moong dal in water for 5 minutes.
- Wash properly 4-5 times.
- Wash mooli ke patte in water 2-3 times.
- Place mooli k patte, moong dal, salt, and 1 tablespoon water in a cooker & cook on high flame for 2 whistles.
- Pour 1 tablespoon ghee into a frying pan. Add hing and cumin seed(jeera). Let them sputter.
- Put ginger and green chili and fry it for 30 seconds on low flame. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder(haldi), and coriander powder & immediately pour the cooked mixture from the cooker into the pan.
- Mix well and cook again on a high flame in the pan till water evaporates from the sabzi.
- Turn off the flame and pour lemon juice into this sabzi.
- Delicious sabzi is ready to eat.
- You can serve this sabzi with wheat roti, bajra(millet) roti, or paratha.

Tip 1
Wash mooli ke patte in salty water for disinfecting them.
Tip 2
Wash radish leaves(mooli ke patte) 2-3 times with water to remove dust.
Tip 3
Place radish leaves in a sieve after washing for half an hour to remove extra water.
Tip 4
Do not pour more than 1 tablespoon of water in the cooker otherwise after the whistle, water in the cooker will be in more than the required quantity.

In case, the leaves seem to be more watery, cook on high flame to evaporate the water.
Tip 6
Do not add extra salt in sabzi as radish leaves have some quantity of salt in themselves.
Tip 7
Add mooli ke patte and then add dal over it in the cooker. This will not let the dal stick in the bottom.
